Emily Yáñez, M.A., MFT
AMFT #139613
I enjoy working with all people, with a soft spot for adolescents and transitional aged youth (16-24). As a first generation Mexican American, I am passionate about helping other “first gen” individuals navigate the challenges that come with that. I also love working with creatives and people plagued by the effects of “hustle culture;” including but not limited to: entrepreneurs, parents and women dealing with the inequity of labor within our society’s culture. Together we will discover your worth outside of being productive!
I have a long history working with non-profit mental health, serving children, adults, and families who are affected by chronic mental illness, substance abuse issues, those experiencing domestic violence, as well as DCFS and probation involvement.
I am very eclectic in style and tailor treatment to the individual, though I do see things through an attachment lens. I believe the client is the expert of their lives and I am just the guide. I look forward to creating a safe space to foster healing and empowerment with you!
